Heat pump solutions designed for mines, sites, and harsh climates

Standard HVAC fails at -15°C. These containerised heat pumps guarantee full rated output — operational in two working days.

Standard HVAC equipment fails when conditions become genuinely extreme. Temperatures drop, sites are remote, timelines are tight, and conventional systems either derate significantly or require permanent infrastructure that simply does not exist on a temporary or industrial site.

Heat pump solutions for mines, remote sites, and harsh climates demand a different engineering standard. Not rated-at-optimal-conditions performance, but guaranteed nominal capacity at every outdoor temperature, delivered in a containerised format that connects in a single working day.

When standard HVAC fails in extreme conditions

Conventional heat pumps are rated at nominal conditions. When outdoor temperatures fall to -15 °C or below, capacity drops, backup systems activate, and energy costs climb. On a mining site or remote industrial installation, that gap between specified and actual performance is not an inconvenience. It is an operational failure.

The problem is not just cold weather. It is the combination of extreme temperatures, remote locations, the absence of permanent infrastructure, and the absolute requirement that heating and cooling never stop. Standard market solutions are not engineered for that combination.

  • Capacity derating in sub-zero conditions leaves sites underheated during peak demand
  • Fixed installation requirements create long lead times and civil works dependencies
  • Limited remote visibility means problems on unmanned sites go undetected until they escalate
  • Supplier support gaps during nights and weekends are unacceptable for 24/7 operations

These are not edge cases. For mining site climate control and harsh-environment industrial operations, they are the baseline reality that procurement decisions must account for.

Full rated output even at very low temperatures

Every AirTreater system guarantees at least nominal heating or cooling capacity at all outdoor temperatures. This is not a rated condition or a laboratory figure. It is a guarantee that holds at all outdoor temperatures and in every operating environment the system is deployed in.

AirTreater Biegga is the portable industrial heat pump designed for large open spaces, halls, and demanding site environments. It guarantees a minimum of 81 kW at all outdoor temperatures, with a maximum heating capacity of 165 kW and at least 81 kW at all outdoor temperatures, combining 84 kW of heat pump output with 81 kW of integrated electric resistance backup. Cooling capacity reaches 81 kW. One unit covers spaces up to approximately 1,000 m².

AirTreater Čáhci is the air-to-water heat pump for sites requiring liquid-cycle energy distribution. It maintains 120 kW nominal heating capacity using compressors alone, with a maximum output of 420 kW and at least 300 kW guaranteed with the integrated backup system active. The heat pump operates down to -28 °C. Below -28 °C, the backup system guarantees at least 300 kW even without external electric power in hazardous situations.

  • Nominal capacity guaranteed at all outdoor temperatures, not just optimal conditions
  • Integrated backup systems activate in extreme sub-zero conditions without manual intervention
  • No performance cliff, no capacity gap that leaves the site exposed
  • Both heating and cooling delivered from a single containerised unit

For mining site climate control and heating in harsh climates, the guarantee is the differentiator. Not the specification sheet figure, but the assurance that the figure holds when conditions are worst.

Portable, site-ready systems for remote deployment

AirTreater systems ship as containerised solutions, pre-configured and ready to connect. There are no permanent plant room requirements, no complex civil works, and no long infrastructure lead times.

The container connects on site in a single working day. Where no heat distribution network is required, the system is fully operational within 4 hours of arriving on site. Commissioning including electrical connection takes one working day. When the project ends or the site relocates, the system moves with it.

  • Container connection completed in one working day
  • Startup within 4 hours of arriving on site where no heat distribution network is required
  • No permanent infrastructure commitment, no civil works dependency
  • Relocatable as project scope or site requirements change
  • Suitable for mining sites, construction projects, remote industrial installations, and temporary critical operations

For remote site operators and project managers working against tight deployment windows, this is the operational reality that matters. The system arrives, connects, and delivers guaranteed output. No extended commissioning, no site preparation works, no waiting.

Integrated control and 24/7 remote support

Remote sites and unmanned installations require visibility and control that does not depend on a technician being physically present. AirTreater systems are managed via an automated remote management platform, which provides real-time operational data and full settings control through a standard web browser from any location. Named end users can also have access to the automation system.

When conditions change or adjustments are needed, operators access the automation platform directly. Settings are adjustable in real time. Alarm events are routed immediately to AirTreater’s service centre, which operates 24/7/365 and takes action to resolve issues as rapidly as possible.

  • Real-time operational data accessible via the automated remote management platform from any browser
  • Settings adjustable remotely without requiring on-site personnel
  • 24/7/365 help-desk support through AirTreater’s service centre
  • Alarm events routed directly to the service centre for immediate response
  • Full integration with existing building automation systems via standard communication protocols

For operations where an undetected fault overnight carries genuine consequences, this level of monitoring and support is not optional. It is a baseline requirement that AirTreater meets as standard.

Find the right configuration for your site

Industrial heat pump requirements vary significantly by site type, space volume, outdoor temperature range, and whether liquid-cycle or air-to-air distribution is appropriate. The right configuration depends on your specific operating conditions, not on a standard product catalogue.

AirTreater Biegga suits large open spaces and halls where air-to-air distribution is practical and rapid deployment is a priority. AirTreater Čáhci suits sites with existing or planned hydronic distribution infrastructure where liquid-cycle efficiency and high outlet water temperatures are required. For process industry applications with specific cooling or heating parameters, AirTreater Prosea is engineered to the requirements of each individual installation.

  • AirTreater Biegga: Air-to-air, 81 kW guaranteed minimum, 165 kW maximum heating, up to 1,000 m² coverage, startup within 4 hours of arriving on site where no heat distribution network is required
  • AirTreater Čáhci: Air-to-water, 120 kW nominal, 420 kW maximum, at least 300 kW guaranteed with integrated backup (heat pump operates to -28 °C; below -28 °C backup guarantees at least 300 kW even without external electric power in hazardous situations), liquid-cycle distribution
  • AirTreater Prosea: Process industry cooling and heating, custom-engineered to site-specific requirements

Every AirTreater system delivers at least nominal capacity at all outdoor temperatures. That guarantee applies regardless of which configuration fits your site. Contact AirTreater’s technical team to discuss your site requirements and receive a configuration recommendation based on your operating conditions, space volume, and deployment timeline.
